American Honda’s strong utility vehicle performance pushed it to a 3.1 percent U.S. sales increase in May.
Honda Division’s truck lineup posted a record May as the brand delivered 71,006 crossovers and minivans, a 12 percent bounce from the year-earlier month. Car sales slid 2.2 percent to 69,244.
Acura sales slowed for cars and trucks, down 10 percent and 6.9 percent, respectively. The brand will get a boost this month with the release of the redesigned 2019 Acura RDX, which hit stores Friday.
Brands: Honda up 4.3%, Acura down 8%.
